Long-Term Opportunity About the Opportunity We are seeking a positive, customer-focused Patient Care Coordinator / Front Desk Representative to join a busy outpatient healthcare environment in Detroit. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service. While healthcare experience is a plus, we are open to candidates from retail, hospitality, or other customer-facing industries who demonstrate strong communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner Answer and direct incoming phone calls Schedule and confirm appointments Verify insurance information Communicate with physician offices regarding appointments and documentation Process prescriptions and related paperwork Maintain patient records and perform filing duties Support multiple team members and departments as needed Provide exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone Handle a high volume of patient interactions while maintaining attention to detail Required Qualifications Customer service experience in a professional, public-facing environment Strong face-to-face communication skills Positive, energetic, and personable attitude Ability to learn new information quickly and apply it effectively Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Comfortable working with a variety of personalities and situations Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to multitask in a busy office setting Basic computer proficiency and confidence learning new systems Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to ask questions and collaborate Preferred Qualifications Healthcare, medical office, rehabilitation, or patient services experience Insurance verification experience Experience handling challenging customer situations Previous front desk or patient registration experience Work Environment This position is based within a busy healthcare setting in the Detroit medical district. The office experiences a steady flow of patient visits, phone calls, and administrative activity throughout the day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
