Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Chiropractic Medical Billing and Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines front-office responsibilities with specialized medical billing tasks, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate reimbursement processes. The ideal candidate will be energized by providing exceptional patient service while expertly managing medical coding, billing, and records. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving chiropractic practice dedicated to improving patient health and wellness. Duties Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently. Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and update medical records accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Handle incoming calls professionally, answer inquiries, and provide information about services and billing procedures. Process insurance claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding standards to ensure proper reimbursement. Review and submit medical claims, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and perform medical collections when necessary. Maintain detailed and organized medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and documentation standards. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures for optimal billing outcomes. Skills Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, including CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), DRG classifications, and medical terminology. Experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Record) platforms for efficient documentation management. Experience with Chirotouch EHR a plus. Proficiency in medical collection processes to recover outstanding payments effectively. Familiarity with insurance verification, claim submission, denial management, and follow-up procedures. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling medical records and billing documentation. Ability to communicate clearly with patients, providers, insurance companies, and team members in a professional manner. Prior experience in a medical office environment is preferred; certification in medical coding or billing is a plus. $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
