Family Practice Medical Receptionist Central Bucks Family Practice -- Doylestown AND Jamison, PA We are a multi-practitioner Family Medical Practice looking for a full-time front desk receptionist to help support our office. Hours would be daily weekdays, mostly evenings and occasional Saturdays. Working hours for our practice are 8 am-8 pm M-Th, 8 am-5 pm Friday and Saturdays 8 am-2 pm. We have offices in Doylestown and Jamison and all team members must be available to work in both locations. •Please note that Central Bucks Family Practice does not hire applicants who use nicotine in any form (cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, etc). All associates are required to be vaccinated for Influenza and wear a mask at all times while working if feeling unwell or during public health emergencies.
Responsibilities include:
Greeting/welcoming patients and visitors, in person and on the phone. Providing the best care and availability for our patients while optimizing provider time and resources. Maintaining daily provider schedule and reminding patients of their appointments. Notifying providers of patients' arrivals, reviewing and verifying all necessary insurance, billing and demographic information. Collecting co-pays and account balances. Verifying health insurance eligibility and benefits via web tools such as Pear and Availity. Ensuring availability of treatment information by filing, retrieving and distributing medical records as necessary. Maintaining patient accounts by verifying and updating personal demographic and/or financial information. Protecting patient privacy and confidentiality of patient information by complying with HIPAA regulations in all aspects of day-to-day work. Maintaining appearance of the waiting room and front office area.
Job Requirements:
High School diploma or GED equivalent 1+ years' experience in a medical office setting Must have a pleasant demeanor and good phone etiquette Experience with Electronic Medical Record software - EPIC Experience with MS Office Awareness of HIPAA regulations Knowledge of health insurance terms and products Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Ability to calmly handle stressful situations Ability to work as a team or with little supervision to complete assigned tasks Flexible schedule: This position would include weekdays and occasional weekends
