This is a unique hybrid role designed for an independent self-starter who can transition seamlessly from being the welcoming face of our clinic to the primary representative for patient financial inquiries at the clinic. This position does not focus on back-end coding or bulk claims submission. Instead, you will be the go-to point of contact at the clinic, ensuring our patients' financial experience is as seamless and empathetic as their clinical care. We need someone who can navigate financial and insurance-coverage related questions, while maintaining a high-energy, professional presence at the front desk.
Key Responsibilities Front Desk Operations:
Patient Welcome:
Greet patients, manage the check-in/check-out process, and coordinate scheduling to ensure efficient clinic flow.
Triage Inbound and Outbound calls:
Scheduling, rescheduling, referrals, and general patient inquiries.
Data Integrity:
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure all patient demographic and insurance information is precise.
Patient Financial Advocacy & Billing Support:
Point of Contact:
Serve as a resource for in-office inquiries regarding patient balances, insurance coverage, and statements.
Insurance Coordination:
Verify benefits, eligibility, and navigate secondary/tertiary insurance questions common in a medical specialty practice.
Support Patient Collections:
Support patient collections at check-in for open balances and setting up payment plans.
Clinic Collaboration:
Communicate closely with clinical staff for flow coordination.
What We're Looking For Experience:
At least 1+ years in patient billing support, patient accounts, or medical front office with a 'know-how' in explaining insurance billing and EOBs to patients.
Autonomy:
You are a "self-starter" who doesn't need to be micromanged. You see a bottleneck in the workflow and fix it.
Communication:
Exceptional etiquette and the ability to explain complex insurance terms to patients—often seniors—with patience, clarity, and empathy.
Sense of Urgency:
The ability to work efficiently under pressure and multi-task.
Tech-Savvy:
Proficiency with EMR/PM systems and a high level of accuracy in data entry. Why Work with Us?
Impactful Work:
You aren't just processing paperwork; you are a "Patient Advocate"
Professional Environment:
Join a specialized team that values independent problem-solvers and high-quality patient interactions.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:15 AM - 4:45 PM (no evenings or weekends)
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
