Job Purpose:
The unit secretary performs order entry, answers phones and patient call bells, greets and directs visitors.
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Training A High school diploma/GED equivalent.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
BLS required
Work Experience:
Minimum of 2 year clerical experience in a hospital setting preferred
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
  • Perform primary check-ups of the patients and makes sure that they are admitted to the concerned doctors
  • These health unit coordinators also schedule appointments of the patients and make sure that the hospital is functioning smoothly
  • Hand over test reports to the doctors
  • Perform certain clerical duties such as maintaining important papers and records of the patients
  • Order equipment and infrastructure required in the hospital
  • Keep a track of the number of patients admitted to the hospital on a particular day and the collects of the hospital
  • Help the patients in filling the hospital forms and understand the procedures of the hospital
  • Perform other duties as assigned
