Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our dynamic dental team. We have an exciting office involved in both standard dental care as well as airway, jaw growth, sleep, and behavioral diagnostics and therapies for all ages. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Many of our patients travel across distances for our expertise, knowledge and innovative therapies. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will help create a welcoming environment, ensuring smooth daily operations and positive patient experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of medical administrative procedures within a dental setting. Medical and dental insurance billing experience is a plus. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify appointments, and manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently Schedule appointments using dental practice management software, ensuring optimal patient flow Collect and process payments, including insurance co-pays and outstanding balances, utilizing medical billing systems Maintain accurate patient records by reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, providing information or directing calls appropriately Verify insurance benefits, submit claims, and follow up on outstanding payments using systems like Cigna, Delta Dental, or Athenahealth Assist with medical documentation review, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and billing procedures to support accurate clinical records Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure proper care plans are documented and communicated effectively Handle electronic health records (EHR) management using EMR/EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks or similar platforms Maintain a clean and organized front desk area while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies Skills Proven experience in medical office administration within a dental or healthcare setting Strong knowledge of health and dental insurance processes including private insurance plans and Christian sharing plans Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone and in person Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and scheduling tasks Ability to perform clerical duties including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and document review accurately Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and medical billing practices Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and care plans Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Join us in delivering outstanding dental care by providing seamless administrative support that keeps our practice running smoothly.
