Medical Receptionist Job Summary Cute Pediatrics is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Medical Receptionist to join our pediatric healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients and families, ensuring a welcoming experience while managing front office operations in a fast-paced pediatric practice. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently. Responsibilities Greet patients, parents, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate registration and documentation. Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments. Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members. Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, copays, deductibles, and referral requirements prior to appointments. Obtain prior authorizations and ensure accurate insurance information is documented in patient records. Maintain patient records while ensuring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Assist with billing, collections, and payment processing. Perform data entry, filing, scanning, and other administrative duties. Monitor and maintain office supplies and front desk organization. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of pediatric medical office experience preferred. Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist in a pediatric, family practice, or healthcare setting. Experience verifying insurance eligibility, benefits, prior authorizations, and coordination of benefits required. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Basic understanding of medical coding and billing practices preferred. Strong typing and computer skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Professional appearance and positive attitude.
