Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist with experience in eClinicalWorks to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. Your energetic approach will help streamline clinic operations, facilitate patient intake, and support clinical staff with accurate documentation and communication. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional front desk service while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy. Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems with eClinicalWorks, ensuring accurate and timely patient bookings. Verify insurance coverage, process insurance claims, and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing procedures. Collect and review medical documentation, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases) codes, and other medical billing information to ensure accuracy. Maintain organized medical records by filing documents electronically or physically in compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) confidentiality policies. Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting demographic information, updating health histories, and explaining clinic policies. Support clinical staff by managing appointment reminders, preparing paperwork for patient visits, and handling administrative support tasks such as data entry using Microsoft Office tools. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a medical office environment with strong clerical skills. Familiarity with eClinicalWorks and Availity. Knowledge of health insurance processes including verification, Medicare procedures, and medical billing practices. Understanding of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and documentation review processes. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic health records management. Strong customer service orientation with exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Bilingual in English and Spanish to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Prior clinic experience is preferred.
