The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing various clerical tasks in a medical office environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression. Manage incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls to appropriate staff members. Schedule appointments and manage the office calendar efficiently. Collect patient information and verify insurance details, including Medicare coverage. Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with ICD-9 coding standards. Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence. Ensure the front desk area is organized and welcoming at all times. Handle inquiries regarding services offered and provide information about office policies. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth operations within the office. Requirements Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred. Strong clerical skills with proficiency in office software applications. Familiarity with Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.
