Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and ensure seamless communication between patients and medical staff. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service while managing check-in and check-out procedures Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Verify patient insurance coverage, process payments, and handle medical collections accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy in documentation review and adherence to medical confidentiality policies Manage incoming calls with professional phone etiquette, triaging inquiries and directing calls appropriately Assist with medical billing processes, including CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and Medicare claims submission Support clinical staff by preparing care plans documentation and reviewing medical records for completeness Skills Proven experience in a medical office setting with strong clerical skills including filing, typing (10 key typing), and data entry Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential Knowledge of health insurance procedures, billing practices, medical coding (CPT, ICD), and Medicare policies Excellent communication skills with bilingual abilities preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively Strong understanding of clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare regulations like HIPAA Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Competency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation review and administrative support This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about delivering outstanding patient service while supporting healthcare operations.
