Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate is motivated, tech-savvy, and passionate about delivering top-tier patient care support in a fast-paced medical environment. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and assist with patient check-in and check-out processes Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Verify insurance benefits and perform insurance eligibility and authorization checks Manage medical records, including filing, retrieving, and updating patient information in EMR systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette to answer inquiries and direct calls appropriately Assist with medical billing and collection processes, including coding using
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
codes, and processing payments Review documentation for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper care plan documentation Perform administrative support tasks such as data entry, appointment reminders, filing, and maintaining office supplies Support front desk operations by managing patient intake forms, scheduling follow-ups, and coordinating care plans with clinical staff Utilize computer skills to operate office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix efficiently Experience Previous experience working in a medical office or clinic environment is required Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth is essential Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare/Medicaid claims processing preferred Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly in accordance with HIPAA standards Familiarity with dental terminology and dental office management systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus for dental clinic settings Excellent organizational skills combined with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks Join our team where your enthusiasm fuels excellent patient experiences!
