In this vital role, you will coordinate patient appointments, manage medical and insurance documentation, and provide exceptional customer service to ensure a smooth and positive experience for every patient. Duties Greet patients warmly and handle front desk operations with enthusiasm and professionalism Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Verify insurance coverage, process medical billing and collections, and ensure accurate documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage patient records electronically, including filing, updating medical histories, and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information Assist patients with health insurance questions, explain treatment plans, and facilitate communication between patients and clinical staff Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately and manage appointment reminders Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and maintaining accurate documentation of care plans Requirements Proven experience in a medical or dental office environment with strong clerical skills and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers; experience with medical billing and collections is highly desirable Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with excellent typing skills (including 10-key typing) Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies (HIPAA), and health information management practices Ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings is a plus; excellent customer service skills are essential Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks Prior clinic or healthcare office experience preferred; familiarity with CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and health insurance knowledge is highly valued Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by providing outstanding administrative support in a fast-paced dental environment.
