Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team! Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and assist with appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Wound Expert. Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, practicing excellent phone etiquette to answer inquiries and direct calls efficiently Verify insurance benefits, perform insurance authorizations, and conduct insurance verification to ensure accurate billing and claims processing Prepare and review medical documentation, including care plans, clinical notes, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding for billing purposes Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents securely and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) confidentiality policies Assist with medical billing processes, including collection efforts related to outstanding balances and follow-up on unpaid claims Support clinical staff by reviewing documentation for accuracy, managing appointment schedules, and handling patient intake procedures Experience Previous clinic or healthcare office experience is highly preferred, especially in a medical receptionist or front desk role within dental or medical clinics Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is essential Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA compliance, insurance verification, and medical billing procedures Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards for accurate documentation review and billing support Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing proficiency including 10-key typing capabilities Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations Demonstrated clerical experience involving multi-line phone systems, filing systems (digital and paper), and office management tasks Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette to create positive patient interactions Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while maintaining clinical confidentiality at all times Join us in delivering compassionate care through efficient administrative support!
