Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Front Office Receptionist / Patient Care Coordinator to join our vibrant dental practice. In this vital role, you will be the welcoming face of our clinic, ensuring a seamless patient experience from the moment they walk through the door. Your energetic approach and exceptional organizational skills will help coordinate appointments, manage patient records, handle insurance verifications, and support the clinical team with administrative tasks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a positive patient journey while utilizing your comprehensive knowledge of dental and medical office procedures. Duties Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in/check-out processes using dental practice management software such as Dentrix Maintain and update patient records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems including eClinicalWorks and other medical documentation platforms Assist with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and explanation of treatment plans to patients Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, provide excellent customer service, and address patient inquiries promptly Review documentation for accuracy, ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, and support health information management efforts Support clinical staff by managing appointment schedules, coordinating care plans, and facilitating smooth clinic operations Qualifications & Skills Proven experience in a medical or dental office environment with strong familiarity of front desk operations and medical administrative support Knowledge of dental terminology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, and medical billing procedures Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms; experience with Epic, Meditech or Athenahealth is highly desirable Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing skills (10 key typing), and familiarity with health information management software Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Exceptional phone etiquette, customer service skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical coding is highly valued Join our team where your enthusiasm meets purpose!
