Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, facilitate smooth patient flow, and support clinical staff with administrative tasks. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out procedures Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Verify patient insurance coverage, process medical collections, and handle billing inquiries with accuracy and professionalism Manage electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Answer multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages Assist with medical coding including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to support accurate billing and documentation Maintain organized medical records, files, and office supplies while supporting clinic operations with clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and 10-key typing Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong knowledge of medical administrative support practices Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth; experience with electronic health records management is preferred Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing, health information management, and medical billing procedures Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies, and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance at all times Excellent communication skills—bilingual abilities are a plus—along with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with basic computer skills for documentation review and administrative tasks Clinic or dental clinic experience is highly desirable; familiarity with CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), care plans, and health insurance knowledge is essential Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in all duties Embark on a rewarding career where your organizational talents help deliver seamless patient care. Pay:
$16.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
