Job Description

Job Summary Spectrum Medical Evaluators is seeking part-time Evaluation Assistants to support physicians performing Qualified Medical Evaluations (QMEs) throughout California. Evaluation Assistants travel to assigned medical evaluation locations and provide on-site administrative and operational support throughout the evaluation day. Responsibilities include preparing the office, greeting and assisting patients and interpreters, completing patient intake and documentation, maintaining patient flow, and supporting the physician and Spectrum team throughout the evaluation process. The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, organized, and comfortable working independently in a variety of medical office settings . Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential, as Evaluation Assistants interact directly with patients, interpreters, physicians, medical office staff, and Spectrum support personnel. Training is provided, including orientation, hands-on training, and shadow shifts with experienced Evaluation Assistants. Responsibilities Travel to assigned medical evaluation locations throughout the Central Valley areas, including Fresno, Visalia, and Bakersfield Arrive at the assigned location in advance of the evaluation to prepare for the day's appointments Prepare examination rooms and ensure the office is ready for the physician and patients Greet patients, interpreters, and other individuals arriving for the evaluation Verify patient identification and required documentation Assist patients with completing intake paperwork and required forms Record patient arrival times, attendance, and other required information Obtain patient measurements when required Maintain an organized and professional patient flow throughout the evaluation day Assist the physician with administrative needs during the evaluation, as appropriate Organize, scan, and upload patient documentation according to established procedures Ensure required documentation is complete and properly submitted Communicate with physicians, interpreters, medical office staff, and Spectrum support staff throughout the evaluation day Communicate any issues, delays, missing information, or other concerns to the appropriate Spectrum team member Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with patients and all parties involved in the evaluation Complete administrative tasks remotely between assignments, including preparing paperwork and submitting required documentation Follow Spectrum procedures and protocols for evaluation-day operations Assist with other administrative duties related to the evaluation process as assigned Qualifications Strong organizational and communication skills Professional, dependable, and punctual Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for assigned tasks Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures Familiarity with Google Workspace is essential, including Google Calendar, Google Sheets, and Gmail Comfortable using Gmail for professional communication and managing work-related correspondence Reliable transportation and willingness to travel regularly Valid driver's license and proof of insurance Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with patients, interpreters, physicians, and office staff Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain neutral and professional during patient interactions Ability to adapt to different medical office environments and work independently with limited supervision Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. of portable office equipment and remain standing or moving for extended periods during evaluation days Healthcare, medical office, administrative, or customer service experience is preferred but not required Schedule Part-time Monthly scheduling based on business needs and employee availability Field assignments primarily in Fresno, Visalia, and Bakersfield areas Travel to various medical offices within assigned service areas Assignments may vary in location and duration Weekday and weekend assignments may be available Administrative work may be completed remotely between field assignments Some flexibility in scheduling is required based on physician schedules and evaluation-site needs Compensation $22.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience Paid training Mileage reimbursement for eligible travel Drive time between qualifying assignments is paid at the standard hourly rate, plus mileage reimbursement in accordance with applicable company policy and IRS mileage guidelines.
