This position is ideal for a recent college graduate, particularly someone taking a gap year before applying to medical school, PA school, or another healthcare professional program . The physician has a strong interest in teaching, mentoring, and providing meaningful clinical experience to students pursuing careers in medicine . In addition to working closely with the physician during patient visits, the scribe will have opportunities to learn about clinical decision-making, medical documentation, patient care, and the day-to-day practice of medicine. Our office also serves as a training site for resident physicians , providing additional exposure to medical education and the healthcare team. For interested and qualified individuals, opportunities for direct patient interaction and additional supervised clinical experience may also be available. Spanish-speaking ability is preferred, but not required. Responsibilities Accompany the physician during patient visits and document encounters in the electronic medical record. Accurately record patient history, examination findings, assessment, and treatment plans as directed by the physician. Assist with chart preparation and organization of clinical information. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements. Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, residents, and office staff. Assist with appropriate clinical or patient-care activities under supervision when trained and assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree preferred. Strong interest in medicine, PA studies, or another healthcare career. Excellent written communication and attention to detail. Comfortable learning medical terminology and electronic medical records. Dependable, professional, organized, and willing to learn. Spanish-speaking preferred but not required. Prior scribing or clinical experience is helpful but not required. What We Offer This position offers more than traditional scribing experience. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
