Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant / Scribe to join our Ear, Nose & Throat specialty practice. In this role, you will work directly with physicians to provide clinical support, accurately document patient encounters, and help maintain an efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate has strong medical terminology knowledge, excellent documentation skills, and experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR). Responsibilities Accurately document physician-patient encounters in the EHR during office visits Record patient histories, symptoms, examination findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans as directed by the physician Obtain and document vital signs, medications, allergies, medical history, and current concerns Prepare patients and examination rooms for office visits and ENT procedures Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and minor in-office treatments Manage provider in-baskets, patient messages, and assigned clinical tasks Assist with medication refills, prior authorizations, referrals, and clinical documentation Review patient charts to ensure necessary records, imaging, labs, and reports are available Assist with specimen collection, labeling, handling, and documentation as needed Clean and prepare exam rooms and maintain appropriate medical supplies Communicate with patients, pharmacies, laboratories, insurance companies, and outside medical offices Maintain accurate medical records and protect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA Work closely with physicians and clinical staff to maintain an organized and efficient daily workflow Experience & Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, Medical Scribe, or Medical Assistant/Scribe in a clinical setting is highly preferred Experience in an ENT, specialty medical practice, or outpatient setting is preferred Hands-on experience with Epic or another EHR/EMR system is highly preferred Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic pharmacology Experience with patient intake, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and medical histories Experience accurately documenting physician-patient encounters in real time Familiarity with ICD-10 terminology, referrals, medication prior authorizations, and clinical documentation Experience assisting physicians with examinations and in-office procedures Strong typing skills with excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy Excellent patient service, communication, and organizational skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred Medical Assistant certification or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred Join our team and be part of a collaborative ENT practice where your clinical knowledge, documentation skills, and attention to detail directly support our physicians and contribute to exceptional patient care.
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
