Jackson , is seeking exceptional, highly motivated premedical students and recent college graduates for a structured Premedical Medical Scribe & Medical Assistant Training Program .
This position is ideal for:
Gap year students preparing to apply to medical school Junior and senior pre-medical undergraduate students Recent college graduates pursuing a career as a physician (MD track) If you are looking for more than shadowing and want meaningful, hands-on clinical experience while working one-on-one with a physician, this position offers a unique opportunity to strengthen your medical school application through direct patient care, medical scribing, and clinical skill development. Successful candidates will gain exposure to clinical dermatology, medical terminology, physician-patient interactions, office procedures, and the daily operations of a busy specialty practice. High-performing candidates may also have opportunities to participate in clinical research and publications. This position is intended for applicants who are serious about becoming physicians ( MD) and are seeking a challenging, rewarding clinical experience. What You'll Learn Throughout the program, you will develop skills in: Medical scribing and electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Patient interviewing and medical history collection Clinical workflow and patient care Dermatologic procedures and surgical assisting Medical terminology and clinical decision-making Professional communication with patients and healthcare professionals Medical office operations and practice management Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Document patient encounters in real time using the electronic medical record (EMR) Room patients and obtain medical histories and other pertinent clinical information Present patient information to the physician Assist the physician during dermatologic procedures, including biopsy tray preparation, specimen handling, assisting with in-office procedures, and other delegated clinical responsibilities Prepare examination and procedure rooms Assist in maintaining efficient patient flow throughout the clinic Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and equipment Opportunities for publication Front Office & Administrative Responsibilities Welcome patients and provide exceptional customer service Check patients in and out Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments Answer incoming telephone calls and respond professionally to patient inquiries Communicate with laboratories, pharmacies, referring physician offices, and patients. Process patient paperwork and maintain accurate medical records Assist with administrative projects and daily office operations as needed Qualifications Required Junior or senior undergraduate student on the premedical track OR recent college graduate Intention to apply to a U.S. MD medical school Ability to commit to the position for 12-24 months Strong computer and typing skills (EMR experience is a plus) Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills Professional, dependable, and mature demeanor Self-motivated, teachable, and eager to learn Ability to follow detailed protocols and retain new information Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence Preferred Previous experience as a Medical Scribe, Medical Assistant, CNA, EMT, Patient Care Technician, Clinical Volunteer, or other healthcare experience Schedule Part-time Variable schedule averaging 10-29 hours per week Additional hours may be available based on clinic needs and employee performance.
