The ideal candidate will have strong medical scribing experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to accurately document patient encounters in real time. Dermatology experience is strongly preferred. As a Medical Scribe, you will work closely with our physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of patient visits. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment, understanding medical terminology, and keeping up with multiple providers and patient encounters throughout the day. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoys working alongside providers in a clinical setting. Responsibilities Accurately and efficiently scribe patient encounters in real time Document patient histories, examinations, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions Ensure medical records are complete, accurate, and up to date Become familiar with and accurately document dermatologic diagnoses, treatments, and procedures Assist providers with documentation during biopsies, excisions, ED&C procedures, and other dermatologic procedures Maintain a strong understanding of medical terminology and dermatology terminology Review charts and ensure appropriate information is documented Assist with rooming patients when needed Obtain and document pertinent patient information and medical history Verify patient insurance eligibility when needed Assist providers with maintaining an efficient patient flow Communicate professionally with providers, patients, and other members of the medical team Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and practice information Follow all office policies, procedures, and HIPAA requirements Qualifications Previous medical scribing experience strongly preferred Dermatology scribing or dermatology clinical experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of medical terminology Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Ability to listen carefully and document information quickly and accurately Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment Strong computer and typing skills Experience with an EHR/EMR system required; EMA/ModMed experience is a plus Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy Professional, dependable, and team-oriented Ability to work independently while taking direction from providers Previous Medical Assistant experience is a plus High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant, medical terminology, or other clinical training is a plus What We're Looking For The ability to scribe accurately and efficiently is the most important qualification for this position. We are looking for someone who can: Keep up with providers during a busy clinic Accurately capture the details of each patient encounter Understand and appropriately document medical terminology Learn and recognize dermatologic diagnoses and procedures Produce thorough, organized, and professional medical documentation Anticipate what information the provider will need documented Maintain accuracy without sacrificing efficiency Work well as part of a clinical team Benefits 401(k) Paid Time Off (PTO) Health Insurance No weekends No nights No major holidays
