Job Summary We are seeking a motivated, dependable Medical Scribe to work directly with an Allergy & Immunology physician in a busy outpatient medical practice. This position provides extensive exposure to clinical medicine and is particularly well suited for a recent college graduate, pre-medical student, or medical-school applicant spending a gap year gaining hands-on experience in a physician practice . The Medical Scribe will accompany the physician during patient encounters and assist with accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). The position offers an opportunity to observe physician-patient interactions, clinical decision-making, diagnostic evaluation, and management of a broad range of allergic and immunologic disorders.

Responsibilities The Medical Scribe will:

Accompany the physician during outpatient patient visits and document the history, examination findings, assessment, and treatment plan in the electronic medical record. Prepare and organize patient charts before visits, including review of prior notes, laboratory results, imaging, allergy testing, pulmonary function testing, and relevant outside records. Document information discussed during the encounter accurately and efficiently. Assist with documentation of diagnoses, medications, allergies, treatment recommendations, and follow-up plans as directed by the physician. Enter or pend orders, prescriptions, referrals, laboratory testing, and diagnostic studies for physician review and signature when permitted by office policy. Assist with documentation related to allergy testing, immunotherapy, asthma management, biologic therapy, and other Allergy & Immunology services. Help ensure that medical records are complete and ready for physician review and signature at the conclusion of the clinic session. Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and practice policies. Communicate professionally with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, office staff, and patients. Assist with other clinical or administrative tasks related to patient care as needed.

Qualifications Preferred candidates will have:

A bachelor's degree or recent completion of undergraduate studies. An interest in medicine, healthcare, or a related scientific field. Pre-medical coursework or plans to attend medical school, physician assistant school, or another health-professions program. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Excellent written communication, spelling, and grammar skills. Strong computer and keyboarding skills. The ability to listen, synthesize information, and document accurately while clinical care is occurring. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office. Previous medical scribe experience is helpful but not required . Training will be provided for a candidate with the appropriate educational background, aptitude, and interest in medicine. Pay:
