Responsibilities:
- Accurately transcribe medical dictations from healthcare professionals into written documents, including patient reports, histories, discharge summaries, and other medical records
- Review and edit transcriptions for clarity, consistency, and compliance with established standards
- Ensure proper use of medical terminology, abbreviations, and formatting
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times
- Manage and organize electronic files and documents in accordance with company protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to clarify information and resolve discrepancies
- Meet assigned deadlines and productivity targets while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Stay up-to-date with changes in medical terminology, procedures, and transcription technology
Requirements:
- Proven experience in medical transcription or related field
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology
- Excellent listening, comprehension, and typing skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
- Familiarity with transcription software and electronic health record systems
- Adherence to confidentiality and privacy standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical transcription training program preferred
