Weekend Option (Saturday & Sunday) Job Summary The Medication Assistant Certified (MAC) - Weekend Option is responsible for safely administering medications to residents in accordance with state regulations, facility policies, and physician orders. This role works collaboratively with nursing staff to ensure high-quality, compassionate care while supporting residents' health, dignity, and well-being during weekend shifts. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Administer oral, topical, ophthalmic, otic, and other approved medications as permitted by state regulations Accurately document medication administration and report any errors or concerns immediately to licensed nursing staff Observe residents for medication effectiveness and adverse reactions; promptly report changes in condition Follow the "Five Rights" of medication administration at all times Assist with medication setup, storage, and inventory per facility policy Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and organized medication cart and work area Adhere to infection control, safety, and confidentiality standards Communicate respectfully and effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members Qualifications Current Medication Assistant Certification (state-approved) High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in LTC/SNF preferred Knowledge of medication administration procedures and documentation systems Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately Strong attention to detail and commitment to resident safety Skills & Abilities Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift per job requirements Weekend Option Details Scheduled to work every weekend (Saturday and Sunday) Premium pay or enhanced benefits may apply (based on facility policy) Consistent weekend schedule with no weekday obligation unless approved Benefits (if applicable) Competitive pay with weekend differential Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holiday pay 401(k) with employer match Supportive team environment and opportunities for growth
