Lead Med Tech / RCA

  • Monday to Friday Job Summary As the Lead Med Tech / RCA at Sunstar Village, you'll take point on assistance with medication administration and resident care during the weekday morning shift, while mentoring and supporting the RCA team on the floor. You'll ensure each resident is treated with kindness and respect
  • and you'll be the extra set of hands, eyes, and heart that makes all the difference, with the added responsibility of keeping the shift organized and accountable.
Duties Lead and oversee medication administration for the shift, in accordance with Florida ALF guidelines. Assist residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene. Support residents with walking, transfers, mobility aids, and fall prevention. Provide incontinence care, including cleaning and changing soiled residents. Perform group and individual activities (structured and impromptu) in activity spaces, common areas, and in residents' rooms to support resident desires and as directed. Conduct medication counts and maintain med cart organization and stock. Escort residents to meals, activities, and appointments within the facility. Help maintain the cleanliness of the dining hall. Observe and report physical, emotional, or behavioral changes to supervisors. Assist with light housekeeping duties such as laundry, making beds, and tidying rooms. Maintain accurate records of care, medication administration, and shift activity. Serve as a point of contact for RCA staff during the shift
  • answering questions, checking in on task completion, and flagging issues to management. Help onboard and train new RCA/Med Tech staff on medication procedures and daily routines. Engage residents with warmth and patience
  • building trust and rapport.
Requirements Previous experience in caregiving or assisted living required; prior lead, med tech, or supervisory experience strongly preferred. Must be at least 18 years old. U.S. Work Authorization. High school diploma or GED preferred. Must have a valid Level 2 Background Screening (AHCA/FBI). More information can be found at https://info.flclearinghouse.com. CPR & First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain before start). 6-hour "Assistance with Self-Administration of Medication" certification required. TB test and physical exam (within 30 days of employment). Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to guide other staff. Ability to lift, move, or assist residents up to 50 lbs with proper technique. Benefits Paid training and required certifications. Consistent Monday to Friday daytime schedule.
