Job Description
We're looking for PCAs and Med (Full-time/part-time) Techs to join our team! Personal Care Assistant Caregiver duties and responsibilities: Read and implement care/activities of daily living (ADLs) according to the resident service plan within the scope of practice of certification or licensure. Effectively works within professional scope of practice per state laws, regulations, and professional standards. Respond to resident needs, pendant calls, and other community alarms in a timely manner. Demonstrates empathy and develops caring rapport with residents. Promotes resident independence and self-care. Delivers care and services in accordance with individual service plan for all assigned residents. Maintains accurate and complete records of care delivered. At the start of each shift conducts a visual safety check on all assigned residents and at the end of each shift, effectively communicate (written or verbal) resident status with next shift. Communicates change of condition in any resident to nursing in a timely and effective manner. Completes incident reports accurately and timely. Understands policies pertaining to safety and infection control and demonstrates practices to control the spread of communicable illnesses. Promotes a clean, orderly, and safe environment. Assist housekeeping and maintenance staff to keep the community and resident property clean. Recognizes, responds to, and reports concerns in resident's environment to ensure safety and comfort of resident. Demonstrates behavior, which maintains and respects resident rights and promotes independence, regardless of race, religion, lifestyle, sexual preference, and disease process. Addresses individual behavioral needs of the resident and demonstrates the ability to identify psychosocial needs. Med Tech Med Tech duties and responsibilities: Provide assistance (or reminders) with activities of daily living, including grooming, oral hygiene, bath/shower, hair cleaning and brushing, and transferring to and from activities and meals, as needed Ensure clients receive their medication on time Lift and/or transfer residents as needed. Assist in meal preparation/presentation, serving to resident, and other dining related responsibilities; record and report changes in resident's eating habits to the supervisor. Record and report changes in resident's condition to the supervisor including but not limited to changes in resident's ability to perform activities of daily living, skin changes, bruising, etc. Daily follow up on bath schedules and vital signs (blood pressure, weight, and respiration, etc). Immediately report all incidents or accident involving residents to the Resident Follow proper procedures in emergency situations and respond promptly and positively to resident requests for assistance, including emergency pull cords, telephone calls, and requests from family and friends.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Personal Care Assistant Must be a Certified Kentucky State Medication Technician (if interested in Med tech position) Must have or be able to obtain a valid CPR certification Speak, read, and understand the English language Committed to health & safety Able to do housework and cooking Well-organized and reliable Excellent communication and people skills A positive and compassionate attitude Physical staminaWork Schedule:
PCA 6:00am- 2:00pm 2:00pm
- 10:00pm Must be able to work every other weekend Med Tech 2:00pm
