AND MIDNIGHTS 7PM-7AM.

The Med Tech/Caregiver is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and resident-centered care to individuals living in an assisted living community. This position administers medications as permitted under state regulations, assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitors resident well-being, and ensures accurate documentation while promoting each resident's dignity, independence, and quality of life. Medication administration is typically performed under facility policies and applicable nurse oversight or delegation requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Medication Administration Administer medications according to physician orders, facility policies, and state regulations. Verify the "Five Rights" of medication administration (right resident, medication, dose, route, and time). Document medication administration accurately in the electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR/MAR). Observe residents for medication side effects or adverse reactions and report concerns promptly. Reorder medications and communicate with pharmacies as needed. Maintain medication carts, treatment supplies, and medication storage areas in compliance with regulations. Count and document controlled substances according to policy. Resident Care Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including: Bathing Dressing Grooming Toileting Oral hygiene Eating and hydration Ambulation and transfers Assist with mobility using gait belts, walkers, wheelchairs, and mechanical lifts when appropriate. Encourage resident independence while providing necessary assistance. Monitor residents' physical, emotional, and mental condition. Report changes in condition immediately to the nurse or supervisor. Assist with vital signs, weights, and other routine observations as assigned. Documentation Complete accurate and timely documentation of: Medication administration Personal care provided Resident observations Incidents and accidents Communication with families and healthcare providers Resident Safety Follow infection prevention and control procedures. Respond promptly to resident call lights and emergencies. Follow emergency preparedness procedures. Maintain resident confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA. Housekeeping and Resident Support Keep resident rooms clean and organized. Assist with laundry and linen changes. Serve meals and assist residents during dining. Encourage participation in recreational and social activities. Teamwork Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, families, pharmacies, hospice providers, and other healthcare professionals. Attend staff meetings and mandatory training. Assist coworkers as needed to ensure quality resident care. Perform other duties assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Current Medication Technician certification (if required by state). Caregiver or CNA experience preferred. CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain). Ability to pass criminal background check and any state-required screenings. Ability to safely lift, transfer, and assist residents. Skills and Abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, patient, and dependable. Strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Basic computer skills for electronic documentation. Physical Requirements Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach. Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary. Assist residents with transfers and mobility. Work weekends, holidays, and various shifts as scheduled.
