Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trained Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist with medication administration and provide essential support to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice settings. Your expertise will help ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication delivery while fostering a caring environment for individuals with diverse needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities through attentive caregiving and medical support. Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications to residents following all applicable protocols and regulations, including medication reminders and documentation. Monitor residents' vital signs, observe responses to medications, and report any adverse reactions promptly. Assist with activities of daily living such as grooming, mobility, and hygiene to promote overall well-being. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support residents with specialized care needs, including Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care, hospice, or other chronic conditions. Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality and security of all medical information. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to coordinate patient care plans effectively. Participate in ongoing training related to physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration techniques such as tube feeding or catheter care. Qualifications Valid certification as a Trained Medication Aide (TMA) or equivalent credential recognized by state regulations. Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments preferred. Knowledge of medical documentation practices and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication safety procedures. Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory impairments is highly desirable. Ability to work compassionately with seniors and individuals with disabilities while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and healthcare professionals. Pay:
$20.95 - $24.88 per hour
