Rates are negotiable! Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, medication administration, and healthcare regulations, with experience working in senior living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings. As a Certified Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring residents and patients receive accurate medication management and compassionate support. The role requires adherence to strict confidentiality standards and compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately to residents or patients in accordance with physician orders and facility policies. Monitor and document medication effects, vital signs, and patient responses using electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical documentation protocols. Assist with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility support, and hygiene to promote overall well-being. Observe and report any changes in residents' health status or behavior, including symptoms related to dementia or memory care needs. Maintain thorough and compliant medical records while respecting patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide compassionate emotional support tailored to individual needs. Follow all safety procedures related to manual handling, heavy lifting, catheter care, tube feeding, and other medical procedures. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, caregivers, family members, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive resident care. Stay current on state healthcare regulations, medication protocols, and best practices in senior care and hospice environments. Qualifications Valid certification as a Medication Technician recognized by the State Board of Nursing or relevant licensing authority. Prior experience working with geriatric patients in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and common medical procedures such as catheter care and tube feeding. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Cerner or similar platforms for accurate documentation. Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines along with maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks required for resident mobility assistance. Excellent communication skills for caregiving roles that involve resident personal care assistance and caregiver communication. Basic life support (BLS), CPR certification, first aid training, and knowledge of hospice care practices are advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work within state healthcare regulations while providing compassionate senior or memory care services.
