Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Medication Technician Lead to oversee medication administration and resident care within our senior living or healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geriatric and assisted living care, with expertise in medication management, patient safety, and team leadership. As the Certified Medication Technician Lead, you will coordinate medication distribution, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and mentor staff to uphold the highest standards of resident care and safety. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate medication administration processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all state healthcare regulations and HIPAA guidelines. Lead a team of Certified Medication Technicians, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to promote professional growth. Maintain comprehensive medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or similar platforms, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date. Ensure proper handling of medications, including tube feeding, catheter care, and other specialized treatments for residents with dementia or memory care needs. Monitor residents' vital signs and overall health status, reporting any changes or concerns promptly to nursing staff or physicians. Conduct regular audits of medication storage areas for compliance with safety standards and proper manual handling procedures. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans that address residents' physiological needs, including Alzheimer's care, hospice support, and mobility assistance. Maintain resident confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while providing compassionate personal care assistance. Qualifications Valid certification as a Medication Technician with experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Proven leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring caregiving staff in senior or geriatric settings. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and the pharmacology related to elderly care. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or similar platforms for medical documentation management. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Knowledge of state healthcare regulations governing medication administration and resident safety standards. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and manual handling techniques safely while assisting residents. Current CPR and First Aid certification; additional training in hospice or memory care is advantageous.
