Responsibilities Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions and document all medication activities in electronic health record (EHR) systems while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and resident confidentiality Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report any abnormalities promptly to nursing staff Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or memory support programs, implementing appropriate communication and engagement strategies Follow all safety protocols related to manual handling, heavy lifting, tube feeding, catheter care, and other medical procedures to ensure resident safety and staff compliance with state healthcare regulations Document medical records thoroughly using EMR systems; maintain accurate records of resident care activities and medical documentation in accordance with legal standards Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other caregivers to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans and communicate any changes or concerns Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care best practices is essential Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), HIPAA training, or hospice care credentials are advantageous Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or similar platforms for medical documentation is desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks required for patient mobility assistance Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents experiencing cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease Compliance with the State Board of Nursing regulations and adherence to all applicable state healthcare laws governing medication administration and patient safety Demonstrated compassion for working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities; experience working within senior living facilities or community-based settings is a plus Join us in making a meaningful difference every day!
