Wisconsin Nursing Home The Medication Aide is responsible for safely assisting residents with their medications under the direction and supervision of licensed nursing staff. Duties include administering medications as authorized, documenting medication administration, monitoring residents for changes or adverse reactions, and reporting concerns promptly to the nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer medications according to physician orders and facility policies. Accurately document medications given and any related observations. Monitor residents for medication effects or changes in condition. Report concerns, errors, or changes in resident status to the nurse. Maintain medication supplies and follow proper medication storage and safety procedures. Provide respectful, compassionate care while maintaining resident privacy and dignity.
Qualifications:
Current Wisconsin-approved Medication Administration training/certification, as applicable to the position. Previous experience in a nursing home or healthcare setting preferred. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and communication skills. Commitment to resident safety and quality care.
