Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful role supporting elementary students as a dedicated paraprofessional who values making a real difference every day. This contract opportunity offers 35 hours per week from now through the end of the school year, assisting a young student who exhibits extreme behavioral challenges. You'll work 1:1 as a key member of the educational team, helping to create a nurturing, safe, and encouraging learning environment. Ideal candidates demonstrate patience, compassion, and a calm approach in dynamic settings. Experience in school settings, especially working with students who have significant behavioral needs, is vital. Your ability to remain reliable and engaged will be essential to fostering consistency and trust.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
Previous experience working as a paraprofessional in schools Familiarity with 1:1 student support, particularly in pediatric settings Background in managing aggressive behaviors in children Willingness to assist with toileting and personal care as needed Strong sense of reliability and a commitment to the student's success Ability to remain calm and supportive under pressure Team-oriented mindset and clear communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated, compassionate support to an elementary student Implement behavioral strategies and de-escalation techniques Assist with daily living activities, including toileting Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and behavioral teams Track student progress and participate in ongoing meetings as required Foster a positive, respectful relationship with the student You'll be a trusted advocate, making a meaningful difference for a student who needs unwavering encouragement and support.
