Job Description

Position:
Resident Assistant (RA)
Non-Exempt Duties:
The RA will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks and responsibilities: 1. The RA will be willing to fill in when other regularly scheduled RA's cannot work. 2. Provide supportive services to residents of the shelter and help them prepare for exiting the shelter 3. Monitor residents and assist them in being compliant with shelter rules and expectations. 4. Complete required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. 5. Assist residents in understanding the shelter schedule; times to eat, time to use the washer/dryers; etc. 6. Work with a fast paced, ever-changing team and demonstrate a willingness to communicate, strategize and work well with others in a team based setting. 7. Attend all in-service trainings, staff meetings and other training opportunities as required. 8. Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends 9. Must set appropriate limits and boundaries with clients. 10. Able to act decisively and professionally when providing services to a vulnerable population. 11. Complete room inspections, assist with serving meals, clean up, organizing, answering telephone at front desk, providing referral assistance, safety and security of campus. 11. Report to the Project Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
The RA must have a minimum high school diploma and preferably former shelter experience. The RA must perform duties in a responsible and benevolent manner. The RA must be able to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
