Job Description
Overview The Behavior Technician plays a crucial role in providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges. This position involves implementing treatment plans based on Current Trauma Informed principles, collecting data on client progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the quality of care. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a strong understanding of behavioral health practices. Staff must be 21 years or older to apply This is a salaried position and will be on a week-on, week-off schedule. The shifts will be Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Saturday through Sunday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with the following week off. Duties Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by a Licensed Professional Counselor. Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress towards goals. Provide direct support to clients in various settings, including home, school, and community environments. Assist clients with daily living skills and promote independence. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times. Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge. Skills Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality. Experience in social work or patient care, particularly with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. Familiarity with medication administration protocols. Experience working with children or individuals with behavioral health needs. Proficient in Trauma Informed Practices and deescalation techniques. Strong data collection skills for tracking client progress effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members. Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding in challenging situations.
