The BCaBA will work with children diagnosed with autism, primarily ages 2-8, and will provide behavior-analytic services under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The BCaBA will primarily work in the clinic setting. This position is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about early intervention, enjoys working collaboratively with families and therapy staff, and is committed to providing ethical, individualized, and socially significant ABA services.

POSITION SUMMARY

BCaBAs at the Thompson Center work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and assist in the development, implementation, monitoring, and modification of behavior-analytic programming. The BCaBA will work directly with clients and their treatment teams to implement individualized treatment plans designed to increase meaningful skills and reduce behaviors that interfere with learning and participation.

BCaBAs will be expected to:

Assist with the implementation and ongoing evaluation of individualized behavior plans and skill acquisition programming. Provide direct behavior-analytic services to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Provide direct behavior-analytic supervision services to clients and RLTs. Collect, review, and analyze clinical data to monitor client progress. Assist the supervising BCBA with treatment plan development, program modifications, and clinical decision-making. Provide supervision, support, feedback, and training to Registered Line Technicians (RLTs) implementing client programming. Collaborate effectively with BCBAs, RLTs, other members of the treatment team, and clients' families. Supervise and implement programming targeting areas such as language and functional communication, social skills, play skills, self-help skills, adaptive behavior, school readiness, and reduction of behaviors that interfere with learning. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and data collection. Practice in accordance with the ethical standards of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and applicable Louisiana laws and regulations.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Current Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) certification required. Experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder highly preferred. Experience working in an early intervention or clinic-based ABA setting preferred. Experience providing feedback, training, or support to behavior technicians is preferred. Must maintain BCaBA certification and any required Louisiana registration or licensure throughout employment. Background check with the Louisiana State Police will be required.

JOB EXPECTATIONS

BCaBAs will be expected to work collaboratively with the supervising BCBA and the entire treatment team to ensure that clients receive consistent, high-quality services. The BCaBA will be expected to: Provide supervision and direct services to clients according to their individualized treatment plans. Review and interpret client data and communicate relevant findings to the supervising BCBA. Assist with ongoing assessment and treatment planning under BCBA supervision. Monitor implementation of programming and provide appropriate feedback to RLTs. Communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and clients' families. Maintain client confidentiality and protect private health information. Follow all applicable ethical, professional, and organizational policies and procedures. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Participate in supervision, staff meetings, treatment team meetings, and continuing education opportunities. Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, patience, and a willingness to learn and grow as a clinician. Work effectively with young children in a variety of settings and activities throughout the clinic. Be able to work with clients seated on the floor and in small chairs and move frequently throughout the clinic setting, including going up and down stairs as needed. Be able to work in indoor and outdoor settings throughout the year.
