Duties Assist individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and cognitive disabilities in participating in community activities and social events. Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, and mobility assistance. Operate a standard passenger car safely to transport clients to appointments, outings, or community events, ensuring their safety at all times. Collect data on client progress and activity participation to inform care plans and support team collaboration. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, promoting positive behaviors and social skills development. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to coordinate care plans and address specific needs or concerns. Administer medication or first aid when necessary, following proper protocols to ensure client safety and well-being. Skills Experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or other neurodevelopmental disorders. Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus for effective communication with clients who are deaf or hard of hearing. Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and person-centered care approaches. Ability to operate a vehicle safely for client transportation purposes. Experience providing home & community care services, including assisting with ADLs and caregiving tasks. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, documentation, and team collaboration. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in medication administration or child care are advantageous. Familiarity with data collection methods related to social services or behavioral health programs.
