Full Job Description Behavior Interventionist:

Middle SchoolJob ResponsibilitiesProvide social-emotional and behavioral support to students who demonstrate challenging behaviors in the school settingCollaborate with building counselors to develop and implement strategies and plans to support student behaviorWork with counselors, teachers, and school administrators to develop and monitor behavior support plansWork closely with the Instructional Support TeamProvide ongoing assessment and documentation of student progressWork directly with classroom staff to support the implementation of behavioral strategies and plansMaintain accurate records of students receiving supportRefer students to counseling or guidance staff when additional support is neededParticipate in staff training related to PBIS, Restorative Justice, Safety Care, and other relevant topicsParticipate in student re-entry meetings as neededCommunicate observations, concerns, and incidents with appropriate school personnelPerform other duties as assigned by building administratorsQualificationsBachelors degree requiredExperience working with children/adolescents who demonstrate behavioral and social-emotional challenges in a school settingExperience in social work, education, counseling, behavioral support, or a related field preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records and documentationAbility to work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, and school staffAbility to build positive relationships with students and support them in developing appropriate social-emotional skills
