Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a paraprofessional on a flexible, contract basis during the 2024-2025 school year! Enjoy the dynamic environment of a large district comprised of 33 schools—primarily elementary sites—helping cover day-to-day staffing gaps in special education classrooms. This is an ideal opportunity if you have strong experience in school settings and are comfortable working closely with students who have behavioral needs. You'll choose your schedule—working between one and five days per week as openings become available through the Spindle app. Assignments may range from one-on-one support to assisting teachers in classroom settings, and could include responsibilities such as implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs), providing general academic or behavioral support, and assisting with toileting or basic care when needed. Simply pick up shifts that fit your availability and expertise. What you'll bring: An active Substitute Certificate on DESE (or in progress and active prior to start date) Experience supporting students in schools, particularly those with behavioral challenges Comfort with both classroom aide and 1:1 roles, including possible assistance with toileting Willingness to complete fingerprinting as part of onboarding Flexible, positive attitude and ability to adapt within a variety of special education environments Key responsibilities: Provide support as classroom or 1:1 aide in SPED settings Follow established behavioral plans and work closely with school staff Adapt to various school schedules: Middle (7:00-2:30), High (7:30-3:00), and Elementary (8:30-4:00 or 9:00-4:30) Use the Spindle app to view and claim available assignments This per diem role is paid at $20.00 per hour and offers the chance to work as little or as much as you like within the district's need.
