Alternate Family Living TDI Durham, NC Job Details Full-time $70,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Working with individuals with disabilities Assisting with ADLs Home care Working with children Meal preparation Full Job Description Overview As an Alternate Family Living (Supported Living) caregiver, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, caring, and stable environment for a young adult male (30s) with Intellectual Disabilities. You will be sharing his home (nice 1800 sq ft townhome) and have your own private living area. Responsibilities Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, transportation to appointments, education support, and recreational activities. He does have other staff assist him with his part-time job, volunteering activities, and other community networking events. Maintain detailed records in compliance with Medicaid guidelines. Collaborate regularly with family, who live nearby, and other staff he has working with him Manage conflict resolution within the home by applying conflict management skills to promote positive interactions among the client and caregivers. Qualifications Prior experience working with children and adults in settings such as childcare, social work, or behavioral health is highly desirable Excellent conflict management abilities to handle behavioral challenges or sensitive situations calmly and constructively. Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience while working in dynamic environments Relevant certifications or training in behavioral health or childcare are a plus; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
