Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities are available for compassionate and dedicated Paraprofessionals to support students in a school setting near Plainfield, NJ. This contract position begins immediately and runs through June 22, 2027, with the possibility of extending through the ESY program into July and August 2027. Three full-time positions are open, offering a structured Monday through Friday schedule from 8:25am to 2:25pm (30 hours per week). You will play an integral part in supporting a specific student throughout the school day, providing consistent encouragement and instructional assistance, and implementing individualized plans to ensure both academic and behavioral success.

Key Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Paraprofessional or in a similar school-based support role strongly preferred Ability to follow teacher guidance, IEPs, and safety/behavior plans precisely Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset Understanding of emotional regulation and comfort using reinforcement, redirection, and de-escalation strategies Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries

Responsibilities Include:

Staying with the assigned student during all school activities including arrival, morning meetings, academics, group sessions, specials, lunch, recess, and dismissal Providing instructional support, task management, and fostering student independence under teacher direction Implementing behavior and safety plans and utilizing established reinforcement or break systems Applying emotional regulation supports and de-escalation practices such as NuView's Ukeru and CBI Monitoring for safety and responding appropriately to behavior or potential triggers Collaborating with teachers, clinicians, and administrative staff when additional support is needed Accurately collecting and reporting academic and behavioral data Covering students during teacher planning periods unless otherwise coordinated Now is your chance to make a meaningful impact as a vital part of a school community.
