The man is currently in school to get his Master of Social Work (MSW), is an author and intellectually driven. Although he's mostly independent, he's looking for someone to help him build his independent living skills at home and in the community. Responsibilities Supporting the individual in executive functioning Assisting with developing and practicing independent living skills Providing support with laundry and household routines Helping with organization and establishing routines within the apartment Supporting the individual in exploring the White Plains community Assisting with attending activities, events, and other opportunities of interest Encouraging the development of social connections and friendships Helping the individual build confidence while gradually increasing his independence Qualifications Experience working in the mental health field is strongly preferred Patient, compassionate, dependable, and encouraging Comfortable working independently and helping someone build skills without taking over Strong communication and interpersonal skills Schedule Days and hours are somewhat flexible based on the needs of the individual and the right candidate. However, we are ideally looking for someone who is available: 2-3 days a week for around 2 hours per session Sessions would start in the afternoon (after 1pm)
