!! Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team who live within 15 miles of Phoenixville/Glenmoore. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum or other developmental disabilities. Your energetic and positive approach will empower individuals to achieve greater independence, enhance their quality of life, and participate actively in their communities. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day by fostering growth, safety, and well-being. Duties Assist individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and meal preparation to promote independence and self-care skills. Support behavioral health needs through behavior management techniques, de-escalation strategies, and positive reinforcement. Implement individualized care plans by collecting data on progress and documenting observations accurately for team review. Facilitate community outings, transportation, and recreational activities while ensuring safety and engagement. Use communication skills effectively, to enhance understanding and interaction with individuals with diverse communication needs. Collaborate with families and other team members to ensure comprehensive support tailored to each individual's goals. Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other disabilities in home or community settings. Strong understanding of special education principles and behavior management strategies. Proficiency in behavioral health concepts and caregiving techniques that promote positive outcomes. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with individuals of all ages and abilities especially with those individuals who may be nonverbal. Ability to drive safely and responsibly for transportation needs related to community outings or appointments. Knowledge of data collection methods for tracking progress and reporting incidents accurately. $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
