Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI is actively hiring for Behavioral Health Attendants for Pediatric and Adult Behavioral Health Units . The Behavioral Health Attendant provides one-on-one support and observation for patients experiencing mental health or behavioral challenges, helping to ensure a safe, supportive environment. Working alongside clinical staff, BHAs engage with patients, assist with daily needs, monitor behaviors, and promote patient safety and well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Provide continuous one-on-one observation and engagement for patients experiencing mental health or behavioral challenges, ensuring a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment.
• Monitor, document, and report changes in patient behavior, mood, and condition while collaborating closely with nurses and other clinical team members.
• Assist with daily living activities, support patient safety through de-escalation techniques, and help maintain a clean, secure, and respectful care environment.

Qualifications:

• Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association
• Previous experience in direct patient care and/or patient observations, or completion of one (1) year of progressive education in a human services-related field (e.g., psychology, nursing, social work, health sciences) is required.
