Job Description

We are actively recruiting Behavioral Health Assistants (BHA) for full-time positions at a state-operated psychiatric hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, that provides psychiatric and forensic treatment and evaluation services to adults, and psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment to children and adolescents. Your expertise and leadership will help ensure high-quality care to those in need. These highly sought-after positions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Successful candidates must be able to complete onboarding requirements and begin their assignment in accordance with the specified schedule.
Job Details:
8-week contract (with opportunities for contract renewals) Full-time schedule, 36 hours (three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend) 12-hour night shift (11:00 p.m.•11:00 a.m.) positions are available Mandatory onboarding for orientation and training for up to 8 days, first shift (8:30 a.m.•5:00 p.m.), Monday through Friday, at the beginning of the assignment
License and Credentials Requirements:
Current South Carolina CNA License (preferred) Behavioral health nursing experience (at least one year) Current CPR Certification, BLS•American Heart Association Current TB screen
Primary Job Duties:
Assisting in the implementation of patient care plans Providing direct support to patients in activities of daily living Monitoring, collecting, and recording data on patient behaviors Assisting with therapy sessions
