Job Description

Looking for a role that makes a difference? At Canyon Creek Services (CCS), our Shelter Staff play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive space for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Our shelter is a safe haven, serving women and their children in crisis, and our Staff are at the heart of that mission. We're hiring for 2 part-time swing & weekend positions, perfect for someone who wants meaningful work with flexible hours. We believe diverse experiences bring valuable perspectives. Responsibilities:
Answer phone calls from clients and staff Complete intakes for new shelter residents during shift Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and safety planning Monitor security systems and conduct regular safety checks Maintain accurate and confidential records Assist with daily shelter operations and resident support Help lead or support activities for residents and their children Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the shelter, including tasks such as room turnovers and regular cleaning. Perform light maintenance and upkeep of the shelter grounds, which may include yard work and snow removal.
Qualifications:
Required:
A commitment to our mission, 'Communities Free of Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault' Strong communication and interpersonal skills Basic computer skills and ability to manage documentation Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and experiences Ability to pass a criminal background check
Schedule:
All weekend shifts available; day, swing, & grave Ability to pick up more shifts Monthly All-Staff Meetings (required) Weekly shelter staff meetings (required) Certifications (Required within 6 months of hire): CPR/First Aid Certification 40-Hour Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Advocate Certification (training provided)
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Work is primarily in a shelter facility. May require standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and performing cleaning and light maintenance tasks. Exposure to emotionally intense situations is expected.
