King and Snohomish counties, WA Work location: In-person Trace Behavior Support is seeking Per Diem Behavior Specialists to support children in classrooms throughout King and Snohomish counties. This per diem role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of students and schools while building your skills in children's behavioral health. Assignments are offered based on client needs and staff availability. New to the field? Our training program prepares both new and experienced Behavior Specialists to support youth with special needs. About Trace Behavior Support Trace Behavior Support is a children's mental health agency that has served youth with special needs and their families since 1997.

Our services include:

One-to-one Behavior Specialist support Implementation of individualized education and behavior plans Seasonal therapeutic camps About the role You will work one-on-one with children in their classrooms, including students with developmental delays or behavior disorders.

Per diem assignments may involve:

Supporting students who do not require a full-time Behavior Specialist Supporting students with modified school schedules Substituting for other Trace Behavior Specialists Duties Support students in managing challenging behaviors Teach and reinforce coping skills Implement individualized behavior plans Complete daily documentation Perform other duties as needed Have at least 2-3 weekdays available consistently each week for subbing Training and support Behavior Specialists receive an extensive training program and job coaching. Minimum qualifications High school diploma Reliable personal vehicle Valid driver's license and auto insurance Ability and willingness to commute to assignments Ability to meet applicable background check requirements CPR certification Preferred qualifications A degree, or current coursework, in psychology, social work, child and family development, mental health counseling, education, or a related field Experience supporting vulnerable populations or working in residential treatment facilities or group homes Pay and benefits $31.00 per hour Opportunities for wage increases based on performance Hourly position eligible for overtime Per diem scheduling based on available assignments Our offices and camp facility are located in West Seattle.
