Worcester Job Summary:

RegalCare at Worcester is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Support Tech to join our dynamic team. As a Support Tech, you will provide supportive care to individuals with mental health challenges, substance use issues, or both, ensuring their safety and well-being. Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring & Facilitation:

Patient behavior and report changes to mental health professionals. Support therapeutic programs and group activities including smoking breaks. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members. Keep accurate records of patient interactions and care.

Boundary Enforcement:

Establish and maintain firm, professional therapeutic boundaries with residents. Recognize and gently but firmly address manipulative behaviors, care resistance, or boundary-testing typical in substance abuse recovery.

Care Plan Collaboration:

Work closely with nursing, psychiatric, and social work teams to implement individualized behavioral care plans and document resident progress, triggers, and successful interventions.

Safety & Crisis Prevention:

Monitor residents for signs of escalating distress or potential substance relapse. Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to ensure the physical and emotional safety of the resident, staff, and peers.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or certification in mental health or substance use preferred. Prior experience in a security role or mental health setting is desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage crises and defuse stressful situations. Understand principles of mental health, substance use, and recovery. Why Join RegalCare at
