Job Description

Behavioral Health Technician Summary:
Valley View Recovery Center, a client-centered, holistic MI/CD facility, is hiring Behavioral Health Technicians to help supervise our 53-bed, high-intensity, residential substance abuse treatment program for adult men. The Behavioral Health Technicians are members of a multidisciplinary team, who are directly involved in providing quality care for clients. This position is responsible for facilitating meetings and providing structure for, during, and after hours and weekend activities. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned): Actively engaging with clients and developing positive relationships that support the client in meeting their goals Provide supervision, direction, and evaluation of performance to all Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs). Responsible for the hiring, training, and scheduling of all BHT staff, while assessing training procedures in coordination with the Treatment Director and Human Resources. Assist with overseeing patient care, and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. Complete documentation as appropriate regarding authorizations, client needs, agency requests, all contacts, incidents, and progress while the client is in the program. Create, present, and supervise client activities including breaks, holidays, and recreational/leisure activities. Promote an inclusive, diverse, culturally competent, and respectful work environment. Be available for after hours consultation and fill in as a BHT when needed. Facilitate disciplinary action in response to employee problems, performance, or behavior; including but not limited to, verbal warning, written warning, and performance improvement plan. Attend and actively engage in management and clinical staffing meetings. Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, providers, referral, and funding sources that support clients in meeting their goals. Monitor and maintain the safety and security of the clients and the facility, providing appropriate interventions if necessary. Address negative behaviors with a positive attitude with both staff and clients. Understand and maintain confidentiality of client information and records. Participate in staff meetings to review changes in policy, procedure, and programming. Promote attitudes of cooperation, support, openness, and teamwork at staff meetings and in the program. Demonstrate commitment to growth and development as a supervisor to ensure improvement in job knowledge, build specific clinical skills, and maintain the highest quality of client care services. Provide concise updates of the Care Team's needs and progress toward problem resolution(s). Provide transportation to appointments and meetings, as needed Perform periodic inspections of client rooms and the facility, and work with the clinical team to develop corrective action plans to address problems, as needed. When needed, administer medication consistently and accurately under the delegation and supervision of a registered nurse Track all medications that are administered, keeping accurate records of dosage times and amounts Perform support functions such as filing, answering telephone calls, and greeting facility visitors Maintain ongoing, current, and required training for best practice service delivery Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
