Job Description

MSDATC is a private drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in Biloxi, MS. We have a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) position open and are in search of the right candidate to join our work family. BHTs play an integral role within our facilities! A great behavioral health technician supports patients in an empathetic but respectful and professional way. BHTs help promote excellent care and well being for individuals in treatment. Brief description of daily duties followed by general responsibilities and requirements: manage the client's daily schedule, monitor and report observations, assist with medical orders and medication, assure adherence to program rules, environmental cleanliness/ housekeeping needs, provide crisis management support and safety at all times.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the comfort and safety of patients during treatment stay. Assist with intake process for new clients. Assist with medication self administration. Administer urinary analysis tests and breathalyzers. Ability to remain professional and respectful when assisting stressed patients. Provide emotional support for and communicate relevant information to clinical staff as appropriate. Follow medical orders individually as prescribed. Responsible for the cleanliness of all areas of the treatment center and inventory recording. Adhere to MSDATC standards, policies, and procedures. Understand all rights of individuals receiving services and comply with DMH and TJC standards for care. Required skills and qualifications Certification in first aid and CPR, or willingness to be trained. High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential information. Ability to perform duties in an unpredictable environment, without physical limitation. Valid driver's license. Experience in substance abuse recovery, mental health field and/ or with children is preferred. Initially, the BHT Supervisor will set up a phone interview to discuss the position and why you'd be a good fit with our company. Any questions you may have, can be addressed at that time.
