Full-Time / Part-Time Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our residential mental health treatment team in Florence, Montana. Mental Health Technicians provide direct, day-to-day support and supervision to clients while helping maintain a safe, structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, maintains professional boundaries, and is able to build positive rapport with clients experiencing a variety of mental health challenges. Key Responsibilities Provide ongoing supervision and support of clients throughout the shift. Maintain awareness of client location, activities, behaviors, and overall well-being. Build appropriate and professional rapport with clients , helping them feel supported and engaged in the treatment environment. Encourage clients to participate in scheduled programming, groups, meals, activities, and daily responsibilities. Complete accurate and timely shift notes and client documentation , including relevant behaviors, interactions, concerns, and significant events. Communicate important client information and concerns to clinical, nursing, and leadership staff. Provide safe and reliable client transportation to appointments, activities, meetings, and other approved destinations. Assist with client admissions, discharges, and transitions as assigned. Monitor and reinforce facility expectations, schedules, boundaries, and client guidelines. Respond appropriately to behavioral concerns, conflicts, or changes in client presentation and notify appropriate staff when additional support is needed. Support crisis prevention and de-escalation efforts in accordance with facility policies and training. Maintain professional boundaries and protect client confidentiality at all times. Help maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the facility , including common areas, client spaces, vehicles, and staff areas. Encourage clients to participate in maintaining their personal spaces and completing appropriate daily living responsibilities. Complete assigned facility tasks and shift responsibilities before the end of each shift. Participate in staff meetings, required training, and ongoing professional development. Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations. Perform additional duties as assigned to support client care and facility operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in mental health, behavioral health, residential treatment, group homes, recovery services, or a related setting preferred but not required. Ability to communicate effectively and establish positive relationships with clients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong observational and written communication skills. Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging or emotionally charged situations. Ability to complete required documentation accurately and on time. Valid driver's license and ability to safely transport clients as required. Ability to meet applicable background check and employment requirements. Physical & Scheduling Requirements Ability to remain active throughout the shift and provide supervision in a residential environment. Ability to perform routine cleaning and household responsibilities. Ability to safely operate company vehicles when transporting clients. Availability for assigned shifts, which may include days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays depending on facility needs.
